About the Author
Pragya Chawla is a full-time high school student and part-time poetaster who resides in the sand dunes of the Emirates. She is a connoisseur of page & stage who savours controversy, performance arts but most of all, people and however it is that emotions work. This book hopes to preserve the light which was born out of darkness, encapsulating both passion and pain. It is a tribute to all those who know the same and contains whatever wonder has become of rubble.

Engaging and Heartfelt Book of Poetry

Window Sills is a beautiful book of poetry that interweaves the juxtapositions of life with the sublime nature of understanding. The poet commands her language in a very fresh and unique fashion. She employs words as her own and redefines them in their context. Her style is contemporary and intriguing. It pushes the boundaries of the form while maintaining a sense of honesty and authenticity. In addition to just how cool it is, you’ll also be sincerely affected by her writing. Lush, rich emotions are bare and ready for you to experience. In general, I am more into more structured style. But, this poet manages to not let her work suffer from the liberty of freeform style. She shows restraint and respect for her work and the reader, in this regard. I highly recommend this young writer for any fan of poetry. I can’t wait to continue reading her work. Awesome!

A Great Read.

Window Sills: A Collection of Free Verse & Experimental Poems is a nice little book of poems written in 41 pages by Pragya Chawla. The first four poems are the lyrics to "Killing me Softly" by Roberta Flack; a very nice song. 12 poems follow quickly after. Chawla provides imagery, emotions, and non-structure on her pages. She doesn't follow any patterns or schemes; just the feeling falling where they lay.
One thing I love about poetry is that the same line can speak to many different people and say something different each time. A line from on the poems is, " . . . to tremble with leaves and cry with rain . . . " instantly made me think of being cold in the fall months and playing in the leaves. Then quickly move to a time when I was walking in the rain crying. I'm not sure what this means to the author, but for it tells a story of hurt and happiness in one line. I really enjoyed reading Window Sills: A Collection of Free Verse & Experimental Poems.
This was the first writings of Chawla I have read and the only I seen listed for her. I hope it doesn't stay that way and she writes more. I look forward to reading more from Chawla and would definitely recommend this book.
