Choral treatment

This song is not in any of Tom Lehrer's compilations. This is the only sheet music format I have found it in (it is on Youtube). Was really wanting to just play it on the piano. This is a complete choral version. Great for a choir director but I will have to extrapolate a bit and whittle it down to size for the piano. Not a problem, just thought I would mention it.

This is a unique book that will quickly find an important place among the standard references for primary care pediatric providers.� It is comprehensive and well written, covering much of what primary care providers encounter that is absent from the standard intensive care textbooks of neonatology. There is no comparable books in this area -- this fills an important need.

This book from the American Academy of Pediatrics is directed at primary care physicians or nurse practitioners who care for newborns with common problems. The book differs from standard neonatal books in that it does not emphasize intensive care or the care of extremely premature infants, but rather a practical approach to common problems seen in the first month of life.

The purpose is to provide "an action-oriented working tool" for primary care providers on common neonatal problems. This is a very worthwhile objective; these issues are often overlooked in standard textbooks. Under the direction of editor Dr. Deborah Campbell, the more than 50 contributors certainly meet their goal.

The book is aimed at primary care providers, but active neonatologists also may use this as a reference for the frequent consult in the well-baby nursery. About the Author

Deborah Campbell, MD, FAAP, is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Program Director for the fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and Director of the Division of Neonatology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. She conducts the Low birth weight infant Evaluation and Assessment Program (LEAP) and has served various leadership roles at the American Academy of Pediatrics, New York State Association of Regional Perinatal Programs and Networks, NYC Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council, and Greater New York March of Dimes Health Professionals Advisory Board and National March of Dimes.

She is a member of the Greater New York Hospital Association Perinatal Safety Collaborative Advisory Group, the National Quality Forum Perinatal Collaborative, and the New York State Perinatal Quality Collaborative Neonatology Expert Workgroup. She also serves on the NYS Palliative Care Education and Training Council, an expert panel that has developed guidance and advice for the New York State Department of Health on best practices in pain management and end-of-life care. She served as a member on the AAP Taskforce on Implementation of Newborn Hearing Screening and the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Program. She is currently co-chair of the Bright Futures Guidelines, 4th edition Infancy Expert Panel.

Already having a degree in mechanical engineering, but no practical knowledge of hydraulics, I purchased this book to enable me to start designing using standard hydraulic components. Whilst a previous book I had acquired disappointingly focussed on pneumatics at the expense of hydraulics, this book was the other way around. Its coverage of hydraulics is excellent and should enable anyone with a technical background to begin designing hydraulic systems with confidence. My rating would have been higher had the coverage of pneumatics, jointly prominent in the book's title, been equally extensive.

About the Author
Andrew Parr is an Industrial Control Engineer, recently retired from ASW Sheerness Steel, Sheerness, UK who worked in the steel industry for over thirty years. In 1980 he began specializing in sequence and closed loop control systems using Programmable Controllers (PLCs) with hydraulic and pneumatic actuators. He has written fifteen books on electronics and process control including Logic Designers Handbook, Industrial Control Handbook, Programmable Controllers, Control Engineering, along with many amateur- level books, among them Introduction to Operational Amplifiers. His books have been widely translated into many languages, including Japanese, Polish, and Swedish. He and has presented papers at various international conferences, including ones on “Automation Systems in the Steel Industry” and on “Automated Fault Diagnostics”.

Working as a practicing engineer for a major US airline, I found this book a very useful introduction to hydraulics & pneumatics. Using this book, I was able to take systems on our airplanes (such as rudder control units and thrust reverser controllers) and write schematics of them using the hydraulic & pneumatic notation. I found the chapter on process control pneumatics to be quite useful in troubleshooting & understanding these systems. While I use this information on aircraft systems, the book is directed to hydraulic & pneumatics in ALL industries and no reference is made to hardware as installed in aircraft applications. Check valves, relief valves, accumulators, pilot valves and sequencing valves are well explained to the layman. The author does a great job explaining the dynamics of cylinders and valves with lots of timing diagrams and schematics. Pick this book up if you want to come up to speed quickly on hydraulics and pneumatics.

This is a good book if u want a brief description on how hydraulic or pneumatic works. I have read the book and now have a better knowledge of hydraulics. The book is small and sometimes u find yourself flipping back and forth to see the illustrations. Might have been better to fit the drawing on the same page as the description. But I thats just my opinion.

Good introduction, great reference

This book will provide the reader with a basic working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. It is not structured like a text book in that it does not give problems to work on at the end of each chapter. It makes use of numerous illustrations to accompany the explanations and provides the reader with a working knowledge on the function each component in a hydraulic or pneumatic system satisfies.
